Studio 2035 is a fine artist collective workspace gallery and academy in the downtown Reno area. Studio 2035 operates under Reno Art Works, a 501c Non-profit organization. Its physical location is close to the ‘mid-town’ core. Studio 2035 is just outside on what is becoming Reno’s emerging art culture district; Dickerson Road.
The collective provides very affordable artist workspace on a square foot basis to suit each artist’s needs. Artists have 24/7 access to the building with amenities including utilities, trash, lounge/kitchenette, and wifi internet access. Although a workspace, it is also a gallery where artists may use their walls to display work for sale. There is a great diversity of subject, technique, medium and pricing within the community of artists. The culture of the building is to nurture artists and enable those who want to sell their work as well as eventually make their living from it.
The residents have the option of joining quarterly group shows in the foyer gallery space or can have a one person show as often as space permits. Artists are also welcome to have exhibitions in their workspace as often as they like.
2035 is also a teaching academy with a classroom of adequate space for about 10 students. Several of the artists are educators who teach traditional technique and methods. They are planning a complete curriculum including structured classes and workshops. These are scheduled and approved by the collective. Teachers can also schedule student shows both in the foyer gallery and their space.
